For someone who didn’t really know the story, the details of what happened really intrigued me
Narrative
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcasting team is forced to deal with a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. The performances are all believable, the comedy in the right places and a pace and running time that doesn’t leave you peeking towards the exit before the credits.
They did a solid job when they weren’t flying plot points
Some may find the lack of change of scenery tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel that the control room is your world and to feel as they did on this eventful day.
Makes you think without preaching
They touched the political and emotional elements nicely. Mixing in footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, will definitely get you more into the experience.
While it is not a film I will watch again and again, it is a very well done piece that I would recommend to friends who enjoy these types of films
Nice touch.
